The content of your message may cause them to listen, but it is the content of your life that will cause them follow.
When the shadows of your past arise, Press on.
When uncertain days have filled your mind, Press on.
When the winds blow strong and the night seems long,
When the waves are high and your soul doth cry;
When the tears begin to sting your eye, Press on.
When old Demas turns his back on you, Press on.
When the power’s of Hell declare you’re thru, Press on.
Tho darkness seems to rise and prevail,
Don’t lose the faith keep His wind in your sail.
Anchor fast your soul, charge the gates of Hell, Press on.
There is One who'll stand with you thru the night, Press on.
Who declares ‘my child we’ll win the fight!’, Press on.
For He’s greater than he that is in the world,
We must keep that blood-stained banner unfurled.
Proclaim it boldly to all the world, Press on.
Sanctification grows out of faith in Jesus Christ. Remember holiness is a flower, not a root; it is not sanctification that saves, but salvation that sanctifies.
It is not opinions that man needs; it is Ttuth. It is not theology; it is God. It is not religion; it is Christ.
I believe that a great number of people are going to die and go to hell because they're counting on their religiosity in the church instead of their relationship with Jesus to get them to heaven. They give lip service to repentance and faith, but they've never been born again.
Faith is not belief without proof, but trust without reservation.
The Bible recognizes no faith that does not lead to obedience, nor does it recognize any obedience that does not spring from faith. The two are at opposite sides of the same coin.
I am prepared to go anywhere, provided it be forward. I determined never to stop until I had come to the end and achieved my purpose.
Beginning well is a momentary thing; finishing well is a lifelong thing.
Regeneration is the fountain; sanctification is the river.
True consecration to Christ simplifies life, for it leaves the management to Him.
Am I prepared to let God grip me by His power and do a work in me that is worthy of Himself? Sanctification is not my idea of what I want God to do for me; sanctification is God's idea of what He wants to do for me, and He has to get me into the attitude of mind and spirit where at any cost I will let Him sanctify me wholly.
Sanctification costs to the extent of an intense narrowing of all our interests on earth and an immense broadening of all our interests in God.
Sanctification is not my idea of what I want God to do for me; sanctification is God’s idea of what He wants to do for me.
Happy are they, who in the matter of marriage observe three rules. The first is to marry only in the Lord, and after prayer for God’s approval and blessing. The second is not to expect too much from their partners, and to remember that marriage is, after all, the union of two sinners, and not of two angels. The third rule is to strive first and foremost for one another’s sanctification. The more holy married people are, the happier they are.
It is not the going out of port, but the coming in, that determines the success of a voyage.
If Jesus Christ be God and died for me, then no sacrifice can be too great for me to make for Him.
No Turning Back!
I’m part of the fellowship of the unashamed.
I have stepped over the line.
The decision has been made.
I’m a disciple of Jesus Christ.
I won’t look back, let up, slow down, back away, or be still.
My past is redeemed, my future is secure.
I’m finished and done with low living, small planning, smooth knees,
colorless dreams, tamed visions, mundane talking, cheap living,
and dwarfed goals.
I no longer need preeminence, prosperity, position, promotions,
plaudits, or popularity.
I don’t have to be right, first, tops, recognized, praised, regarded, or rewarded.
I now live by faith, lean on His presence, walk by patience, live by prayer, and labor by His power.
My face is set, my gait is fast, my goal is heaven, my road is narrow, my way rough, my companions few, my Guide reliable, and my mission clear.
I cannot be bought, deluded, or delayed.
I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, or meander in the maze of mediocrity.
I won’t give up, shut up, or let up until I have stayed up, stored up, prayed up, paid up, and preached up for the cause of Christ.
I am a disciple of Jesus.
I must go ‘til He comes, give ‘til I drop, preach ‘til all know, and work ‘til He stops me.
And when He comes for His own, He will have no problem recognizing me.
